A few weeks ago we gave different brands the challenge of coming up with a wallpaper for our new series of releases. We begin with Acropolis, Unscripted, Breezy Excursion, 5th Column and Defam|Nation. Also found in the pack is our upcoming collaboration with Acropolis which will be releasing next month. Coming off their collaboration with Black Scale, 5th Column returns this Fall in normal fashion with a new batch of tees and outerwear. As usual 5th Column uses significant imagery with a story behind it that returns back to the theme of the collection. Over the years we have seen 5th Column take a less traditional route and lean more toward serious topics and continue do so this time around. 5th Column and Black Scale and reunited once again to release their latest capsule collection. The two bring their imagery and style together to form a new series, which features signature designs from both parties. The collaboration yields what is being referred to as BLVCK COLUMN, a combination of the brand names. Tees, jackets, crewnecks and pullover make up their latest drop, but be on the lookout for more to come from the two. The collection can now be found in-store and online at Black Scale.

Anyone who consistently checks the site can tell you that we feature an eclectic group of brands ranging from the more established names who have been around for quite some time to those who are emerging. 5th Column is among the many brands that we like to showcase because of their unique style that is discussed below in an interview with Jason, the founder of the company. 5th Column and Taiwainese artist COLASA have teamed up for the Illusion Collection. The collaboration centers around a graphic of Jesus Christ and portraying him in a different light. “The main theme of Jesus head, the most important is to convey the impression that the image is more important. I hope to give relatively deep. More serene visual senses in fact, does not represent any religion or belief”, says the artist. The design comes in either white or black with logos at printed at the back. Release is scheduled for next month.

IMPRM and 5th Column will be joining forces to present the Blood Brothers capsule collection in the coming days. Not much has been said about the collaboration, but stay tuned for more info to come as IMPRM continues their takeover.

Brooklyn, NY based brand 5th Column presents their Spring collection, entitled There Will Be Blood. They roll out three shirts as apart of the season, Malcom X, Zodiac Killer and the Blood Flea tees. 5th Column are making headlines once again with their People’s Army 5 Panel in collaboration Quintin. The link up to create a uniquely designed 5 Panel made up oft their 5th flea logo on the front in red and paired with an olive colored base. On the inside, the 5 panel is lined with with an overlapping image. The hat will be releasing in Spring 2010 under their Revolutionaries series. Stay tuned for more from the collection.

A few months ago, the Black Scale x 5th Column Motto Series was first introduced showcasing a few different styles. In addition to new images of the collaboration, descriptions of each concept has surfaced shedding some light. First up is the Death tee, which is influenced by the iconic logo of LIFE magazine. Following the Death tee is, War and Honour, which the Honour tee pays homage to those who have fallen in all of the past and present wars. After making quite a splash around the internet, 5th Column is making news again after appearing at Agenda in a collaboration with Black Scale. The collaboration has a release date of this Fall and will see various graphic tees and crewnecks hitting retailers in the coming weeks.
