A good pair of jeans can make a person’s outfit look whole. But we want to know is what really is the perfect pair of jeans? Some may argue over certain washes and fades, but what about wearing untreated denim? We’re talking about raw denim. Raw denim has seen a surge in popularity in the recent decade. Brands such as APC, 3Sixteen, Nudie Jeans Co., Naked and Famous, etc., are all producers in this raw denim sub-style. Supporters and users of raw denim would argue that the “perfect fit” could only be achieved through a pair of raw denim. In order to achieve this “perfect fit”, users of raw denim will often find themselves wearing the pair for an extended period of time, months to a year, without washing them in order to achieve the right fades. Some users may even home-treat the denim by submerging the jeans in hot water while still wearing them or even swim in ocean water to achieve a “green tinge”. However, raw denim is usually quite pricy making it difficult for a majority of consumers to purchase. Users of raw denim are no strangers to random rips and tears, as well as the infamous “crotch blowout”, which can be rather annoying. We want to know what are your thoughts on raw denim, and if you currently have or had a pair. Let us know in the comments section below, and also be sure to check out some examples of raw denim jeans after the jump.
