Philadelphia based retailer Abakus will be celebrating their 4 year anniversary alongside a few familiar brands in 10Deep, Crooks & Castles, Award Tour and Mishka. The four shirts are scheduled to be released this Saturday and limited to only 50 pieces each. Expect to find classic branding and images with commemorative font and graphics. A couple weeks ago we gave you a preview of the t-shirts the brand The Award Tour had coming and with a set release date of October 1st we now have the official lookbook for the brand. Working with the photographer Vinny Pocone, Phillip T. Annand brings together the OG Award Tour family to exemplify what the collection is truly about: Friends, Family, & Good Times. London based filmmaker Luke Monaghan and Award Tour owner Phillip T. Annand get together to create this short film that gets inside the mind of Mr. Annand himself. In the flim Phillip T. Annand talks about college life and his major while also going into detail about what he does with the trendsetter site Madbury Club. In additional to those subjects he also speaks on his brand, Award Tour, and how it is a simple brand with each design hand drawn and made originally for family and friends. He also jokes about the fact people at times get upset with the lack of supply he puts out for his type of demand and says in the film “its just t-shirts people got to relax, its not that serious.” The most memorable quote from came at the end of the film when Annand simply stated “if the people at home like it[speaking on his designs] they like it, if not then you know I give it to my cousins.”
If you have ever visited Hypebeast and have checked out their blog roll then you have probably came across Phillip T. Annand’s, the owner of the brand Award Tour and one of the creators of the newly formed Madbury Club, blog. Here we have previews of the collection that has slowly hit the face of the web over the past couple weeks. Annand’s designs are always hand drawn and hand printed and each design comes with a message or meaning that he values. Using simplistic but effective designs the anticipation for the official lookbook and release date grow each day. For those questioning whether or not Award Tour was still active, this preview is for you. Here’s a sneak peak at a few Summer pieces including the cap seen above. A picture of some of the future caps can be found after the jump, including red and grey models. No word on when you can expect to find the rest of Award Tour’s Summer ’10 collection, but stay tuned for more info.
Back by popular demand after selling out the first time around is Award Tour’s Haiti Relief tee. The shirt will hit the Award Tour online store today, February 15th at 6:30 PM EST. The restock includes 50 more printed shirts, so make sure you don’t miss out this time around. Lastly, 100% of the proceeds will go towards Haiti relief efforts.
In the wake of disaster, Award Tour looks to send some relief to the victims of the recent earthquake that struck the capital of Haiti, Port-Au-Prince. To help out with the crisis, Award Tour has created the Relief Beanies and 100% of the profits will go toward Haitian relief efforts. Quantities will be limited and only 20 beanies will go on sale since only a short period of time has elapsed since the earthquake. Color choices include charcoal, navy, maroon and army green. In addition, the beanies also come with laser cut Award Tour pins created by Good Wood NYC to raise awareness. The Relief Beanies will be releasing tomorrow, Thursday January 14 at 6:45PM EST in their Corner Store. Our hearts go out to Award Tour and those effected by the earthquake.
Award Tour keeps it funky with their Snow Cap beanies, which will release on Christmas Day.. The Snow Cap beanie features a ski cap design with ear flaps, keeping your ears warm during those cold Winters. The Snow Cap beanie is available in two subtle colors, red and brown and reads “Keep it Funky” with a festive motif. However, quantities will be limited to only 50 per color, which means they will likely move fast. The Award Tour Snow Cap beanie again will release on December 25th retailing at $26.
