
After giving us a look at the re-designed Doughboy New Era 59Fifty fitted cap, Benny Gold drops a new batch of tees for the Winter season. Expect to find classic Benny Gold design work as he puts forth a solid line. Each shirt comes in three different colors to choose from. After running to some complications with their original Doughboy logo, Benny Gold answers back with a modified logo incorporating 16th street into the design, the location of Gold’s retail store. The new logo appears on black, navy and turquoise variations featuring signature Benny Gold accents include patterns, paper plane logo and more. Check it out all after the jump. Benny Gold has recently been served a “cease and desist” order by New Era regarding the use of their popular Doughboy “B” logo. Fans of this logo will recognize it as an homage to rapper Ice Cubes character in the movie Boyz in the Hood. The logo which is apparently very similar to that used by the Birmingham Barons has now been scrapped. Benny Gold went back to the drawing board as seen below. After changing the original “B” to “G” and incorporating the number “16″ (a reference to the street location where the Benny Gold retail store is), Benny Gold was able to create a clean, gothic inspired logo that will be ready for their upcoming Fall/Winter collection. Benny Gold and German brand, Alkr present a special set of iPhone 4 cases. The two are set to release this Saturday and feature special packaging and branding. Benny Gold recently opened the doors to his new store and in the process released a collaboration with Real Skateboards. By manipulating artwork Benny Gold did for Real skateboards on a previous project the two brands got together to release a deck and tee. The deck comes in two different editions: woodgrain and foil, the two woodgrain decks are limited to 25 pieces and are only available at the Benny Gold store while the real gold foil edition is limited to 100 pieces with each one being hand numbered. To go along with the collaboration there is a video featuring Benny Gold speaking about his brand and relationship with Real Skateboards. Almost two months ago Benny Gold announced they will be moving their Flagship store to a new location. The San Francisco based brand have outgrown their first location and are now heading to 3169 16th Street! The grand opening for the new store will take place this weekend on Saturday April 30th. Expect good food and good clothes as the brand will be selling new pieces from their spring collection. In the meantime Benny Gold is offering 50% off everything at his online store but this deal will only last until the grand opening.
